No experience is necessary! Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you're a seasoned pro, our guides provide tailored instruction throughout the day. 

We float various stretches of the Salt River near Afton to Etna. Depending on water levels, we may explore the meandering meadow sections or the braided waters leading towards Palisades Reservoir.   See map at bottom of this page. 

Full-day trips usually last 7–9 hours on the water, while half-day trips are roughly 4–5 hours. 

Polarized sunglasses (essential for seeing fish and eye safety).

Layers: A light fleece, sun hoodie, and a rain jacket.

Footwear: Sandals with straps (like Chacos/Tevas) or sneakers you don't mind getting wet.

Sun Protection: Hat, sunscreen, and lip balm.

We typically meet at a designated boat ramp or a convenient location in Thayne. Your guide will call or text you the evening before your trip to confirm the exact time and spot based on current river conditions 

Our float trips include water and snacks. Pack your own lunch 

We welcome anglers of all ages. Children under 14 do not need a license but must be accompanied by a licensed adult. 

Public restrooms are available at most major USFS/WGFD boat ramps. Once on the water, we can make "nature stops" at various gravel bars as needed. 

Reservations typically require a $50 deposit. Deposits are generally fully refundable if cancelled 30+ days prior to the trip. Within 30 days, deposits may be non-refundable or credited toward a future date. Cancellations made within 24–72 hours often forfeit the full deposit. 

For safety and boat maneuverability, the combined weight of two anglers typically should not exceed 500 lbs. 

We fish rain or shine! Mountain storms often move quickly, and some of the best fishing happens during a light drizzle. We only cancel or reschedule for extreme or unsafe conditions like lightning or high winds, which is usually decided the morning of the trip. 

You are more than welcome to bring your own gear; however, I can provide Orvis Clearwater 5 WT and 4WT Rod and Reel set ups. 

I will have all the Flies you will need for the day.

Water and Snacks are also included.
